Terms of Service
Studio Chairman · published by sater
Effective 25 August 2026 · Last updated 25 August 2026
The short version
The game is free and complete. Advertising pays for it. There is one optional purchase that removes the ads, and it does not unlock any content, because nothing is locked.
Nothing here is designed to catch you out. The long version follows because some of it has to be said precisely.
1. Agreement
By installing or playing Studio Chairman (“the game”), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not install it, or uninstall it.
These terms are between you and sater (“we”, “us”). They cover the Android
application com.sater.studiochairman, version 1.0.0 and later.
Your use of Google Play to download the game or make a purchase is additionally governed by the Google Play Terms of Service.
2. Your licence
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and play the game on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial enjoyment.
You may not: sell, rent or sublicense the game; reverse-engineer, decompile or disassemble it except where that right cannot lawfully be excluded; remove or alter any notice of authorship; or distribute modified copies.
Streaming, recording and publishing your own play — videos, screenshots, written coverage — is expressly permitted, including monetised channels. You do not need our permission. The footage of your play is yours.
3. What the game costs
The game is free. All seven story chapters, and the open sandbox mode, are available from first install at no cost. No chapter is locked and no content is sold.
The game is funded by advertising, as described in the Privacy Policy.
4. The one purchase
Studio Chairman offers a single optional in-app purchase: Remove ads.
- It is a one-time, non-consumable purchase. You buy it once, per Google account.
- It permanently removes the interstitial and in-list advertising.
- It does not unlock chapters, grant in-game money, or provide any competitive or gameplay advantage of any kind. The story is exactly the same either way.
- Optional rewarded ads remain available to you afterwards if you want the in-game favour they grant. You are never required to watch one. To make sure paying is never worse than watching, buyers also receive a standing daily allowance of favours.
Payment, refunds and cancellation are handled by Google Play, not by us. We cannot issue refunds directly. Refund requests go through Google Play’s refund process, and are subject to Google’s policy and any statutory rights you have in your country.
If you reinstall or change device, use Settings → Ads → Restore purchase.
5. Favours and in-game items
The game contains an in-game currency called Favours, and various in-game values such as studio cash, reputation and box-office results.
You should understand clearly:
- Favours cannot be bought with money. They are earned for free through a daily gift, or by optionally watching a rewarded ad. There is no way to purchase them.
- Favours and all in-game values have no monetary value. They are not your property, cannot be exchanged for cash or anything of real-world value, and cannot be transferred or sold to another person.
- Favours cannot buy an advantage. By design they purchase only information and cosmetic options — never money, reputation, film quality or box office. Watching an ad will not make you win, and refusing will not make you lose.
- We may adjust the balance, cost or availability of in-game items in future updates.
Because your progress is stored only on your device, we cannot restore a lost save. Uninstalling the app, clearing its data, or losing the device will lose your progress. This is a direct consequence of not uploading your data anywhere, and is not a fault we can remedy.
6. Acceptable use
Do not use the game to break the law. Do not attempt to interfere with the advertising or billing systems, generate invalid ad traffic, automate ad views, or tamper with saved data in order to defraud us or our advertising partners.
Studio and chairman names are typed by you and stored only on your device. If you choose to publish screenshots containing names you have entered, that is your responsibility.
7. Fiction
Studio Chairman is a work of fiction. Studios, executives, films, rival companies, moguls and the events of its historical campaign are invented. Where the campaign draws on real periods of film history, it does so as dramatised fiction.
Any resemblance to real people, living or dead, or to real companies, is coincidental and not intended.
8. Updates and availability
We may update, change or discontinue the game, any feature, or the availability of the in-app purchase, at any time.
If the ad-removal purchase is ever withdrawn from sale, purchases already made continue to be honoured on the versions that support them. We cannot guarantee that any specific version remains installable indefinitely, as that depends on Google Play and on Android itself.
9. No warranty
The game is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every device.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any right you have under mandatory consumer law in your country, and where such law applies, it prevails over this section.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost progress, lost data, or lost profits, arising from your use of the game.
Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, it is limited to the greater of the amount you actually paid us through the in-app purchase in the twelve months before the claim, or USD 10.
This section does not limit liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
11. Third parties
The game uses Google AdMob for advertising and Google Play Billing for purchases. Those services are operated by Google under their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for them. Ads may link to third-party destinations we neither control nor endorse.
12. Termination
You may end this agreement at any time by uninstalling the game.
We may suspend or terminate your licence if you materially breach these terms — in particular section 6. Sections 5, 7, 9 and 10 survive termination.
13. Changes to these terms
We may revise these terms. The Last updated date at the top shows when. Material changes will be signalled in the app or on the store listing before they take effect where the law requires it. Continuing to play after a change means you accept it.
